Terry Turner from Coeburn back in the 60's went on to play D1 basketball, didn't he?

Could have been. I thought it was one of the service academy's or a military shcool.

Lung..... you're correct about Seth Askins.

As far as Burton goes, here are the one I can remember that haven't already been mentioned.. RichKotite may be able to give more, my mind is blank.

    Connor Litton (GT)
    Major Griffey (WF)
    Recee Gravely (WF)

    Correct

Bob Bond Coeburn VT fb line
Israel Hamilton Coeburn VT fb long snapper
Gene Rowland Coeburn The Citadel fb qb
Dan Bryant Coeburn UK fb rb
    Terry Turner Coeburn UT bb
John Hall Coeburn Marshal fb qb

I was thinking that one of the Mooney's from Coeburn in the 80's ran track at VT but can't confirm right now. Also thinking David Mitchell played bb for UT but not certain.

Gotch, Steve Fleming from Clintwood went to WF. That's probably who you were thinking of.

TheBeast, Frank Mooney from Coeburn ran track for JMU.

Roy Lee Dykes from PV in the 70's was a world class high jumper and a possible Olympic hopeful until he got into some legal trouble.
